Is Blackjack the Most Newcomer Friendly Game?

With changing attitudes towards gaming and the growing availability of many different online services, online casinos have continued to thrive particularly over the past year with the huge growth of the likes of non UK casinos – amongst the online services, blackjack has long been a favourite for newcomers and experience players alike but many suggest it’s likely the best game for new players to try out – but what makes it the most newcomer friendly game and why are so many new players turning to it as their main game?

A great alternative for an in-casino experience – With the growth of live dealers quickly becoming amongst the most popular blackjack games available at online casinos, players who may have only experienced land-based options or not played at a casino at all are able to have a more unique experience that in a small way can replicate a more traditional playing experience. Whilst having the live dealer doesn’t change the gameplay a great deal, it is a more social experience which can certainly help new players not feel so isolated with machine play options as they can feel so devoid of interaction with others.

Easy to understand, and high win percentages – Another huge benefit making it newcomer friendly is with the fact that blackjack as a game is extremely easy to understand – being represented in popular media hundreds of times over, the likelihood is that you’ve already been exposed to blackjack in one way or another, and so even as a first time play you probably already know what you’re doing. Combined with higher win percentages as blackjack is typically considered to be the most fair game in that aspect, it beats out other n newcomer friendly options like slots which typically have much lower win percentages.

Blackjack wagering can be as big or as little as you like – Much like many other big casino games, you’re able to wager as much or as little on each blackjack hand as you like and whilst betting bigger will give you a bigger return, when just starting out it may be good form to stick to lower bets. In other newcomer friendly games like slots, lower bets may block off certain features or reels, where as blackjack remains the same regardless of what you bet making it a much better option for new players looking to have the full experience without compromising.

There’s also always the option of watching the big content creators that focus on Blackjack if you’re looking for tips too – with many able to find a bigger audience on platforms like Twitch recently, there’s plenty of content out there if you’re looking to hone your game a little, and to improve your odds of winning a little more.

Why Blackjack Is The Best Casino Game

Online casino has always been a popular format of entertainment ever since the internet took over the gambling industry. One of the most popular games on these online casinos has been that of Blackjack as it continues to dominate the online casino market for several reasons but why has it proved to be one of the most popular casino games on online casinos?

One of the main reasons why blackjack has become one of the most popular online casino games is due to the fact that it is easy to understand and play at any level. There are many casino games that are rather complicated and difficult to understand whereas blackjack is one of the easiest games to understand and play and can be played at any standard. The rules are very simple, you are given two cards and must match as close 21 against the dealer. The closer you are to the 21, the more likely you are to win against the dealer. Why Blackjack has the Best Online Casino Odds

The past few years have seen many of the biggest online casino operators find a surge in new users, and particularly over the next few years as land-based casinos continue to find struggles and online services improve. A question often asked by newcomers however is which online casino games typically have the best odds and the best chance of winning, particularly those playing at no limit casinos like these for example in the hopes of winning big. Blackjack has often been attributed as the game with the best odds, but is this true? And if so, why does it continue to be one of the best online casino games to play.

It’s easy to understand, and easy to play – Perhaps the biggest benefit of blackjack that makes it such a great odds-on favourite is that it’s so easy to play – you’re not competing against other players, so it takes a lot of the pressure away, and given you’re only playing against the ‘house’, there’s only one thing you need to focus on. The rules for blackjack are very easy, and there’s little variation too it too, if you’re a newcomer to gambling or any form of online casino, the blackjack tables remain a great place to start and give a great opportunity to win too.

Random Number Generators have really helped – Movies like 21 have really helped glorify some blackjack strategies like card counting and have turned blackjack into a popular culture game, but the reality of it is much harder to do, particularly at modern casinos, but online casinos have got rid of the practice all together – with more decks in the shoe, and a complete random shuffle with every hand that’s played means that there’s no possibility for anything like that to happen – this means that every hand is truly random, and means your chances of winning or losing are always the same, making it one of the fairest games to play at an online casino. Have you tried any of these winning Blackjack strategies?

Blackjack is one of the best games at an online casino for testing your skills. It might seem like an uphill battle to learn all the tricks for successful play, but we can assure you it is possible. Here are some top tips to help you win at Blackjack.

Learn a Basic Strategy

A basic Blackjack strategy will work wonders for your game. You will know precisely when to hit and when to stand and plays may begin to work out in your favour.

If you prefer playing your Blackjack in a real casino as opposed to online, you will be pleased to know that you are allowed a basic strategy card with you when you play. Don’t lay it on the table. Keeping it in your hand and referring to it as you need it is a perfectly polite way to ensure your game is tip top without annoying your dealer. Some casinos even provide strategy cards so don’t be afraid to ask for one; they are a perfectly legal tool!

Don’t Take Insurance

Insurance is when the dealer gets an Ace for their face-up card. You are offered a half bet and you are basically betting against whether the dealer has a blackjack or not. This is never worth taking. It is better to say no and continue to play as normal rather than risk this lower, more unbalanced bet. How to Count Cards in Blackjack

Keeping track of cards as you play is good practice for just about any card game – if you’re playing poker, you need to count your outs or you’ll find yourself going all in on a royal flush that simply isn’t left in the deck. But never is this more apparent than in blackjack where counting the cards is so widespread that many casinos have rules in place to prevent players from doing it due to the advantage it gives players. So, obviously we’re going to give you a quick primer on how to do it so that you can have that advantage too!

Step 1: Choosing the system to start with

This is going to be the biggest part of any card counting plan – choosing which system you want to use. Ever since the early days of Edward Thorp, counting cards has had a very vaguely defined set of ‘rules’ for how the systems should be used and the methods have stayed relatively similar since then with ranges of complexity. Choosing the first system you want to learn is a vital step in your journey to become a Rainman-esque master but  you probably don’t want to start with one of the harder ones. What is the Optimal Strategy for Blackjack?

Luckily for players, blackjack (often known as 21), has the best house odds for gamblers; meaning if you’re looking to get into a new game with limited risk, blackjack is the one for you. One of the many perks of the game is that you’re only playing against the dealer, rather than intimidating poker champs, so the pressure isn’t quite as intense. The low house edge is also a great incentive to blackjack players, as it’s only 0.17% with a single deck (52 cards).

Beginning with two cards each, the ways to beat the dealer in blackjack are:

  • Get a ’blackjack’ (21 points) on your first two cards
  • Reach a final score higher than the dealer without going over a total of 21
  • Let the dealer draw additional cards until their hand exceeds 21

A ’blackjack’, the hand the game is named after, includes two cards featuring at least one ace and a face card (Jack, Queen or King), that equals 21.

The optimal strategy for blackjack is always basic strategy, which involves playing your hand of any value against the dealer’s up-card, as it loses the least money to the house in the long-term. This tactic, if implemented flawlessly, can drop the house odds to just 0.5%. Continue reading “What is the Optimal Strategy for Blackjack?”
